Featured Resource - Kids InfoBits

Kids InfoBits is a research tool developed especially for kids in grades K-5. It features a developmentally appropriate, visually graphic interface, and a popular search method that moves from broad subjects to narrower topics using a subject based topic tree. The curriculum-related, age appropriate, full-text content is from the best elementary reference sources and magazines.

The video to the left gives an introduction to using Kids InfoBits, and is provided by Gale. Click on the icon to the bottom-right of the video to view in it full-screen mode.

Top Books of the Year at WCCLS

Well 2011 is almost up, and it's time to look back at the year that was. There are many "best of" lists published each year, but we thought it would be more interesting to see what library users in Washington County read the most this year. eBook Reader Tech Petting Zoo @ Hillsboro Main Library -- Tuesday, 12/6

Considering buying an eBook reader?

Come to the Hillsboro Main Library on Tuesday, 12/6, between 6 and 7:30 p.m. to sample various eBook readers, including the new Kindle Fire, Barnes and Noble NOOKs and iPad, and learn about using library eBooks. Librarians will be there to show you how to use library eBooks with your eBook reader. No registration required. Expect to spend 15 - 20 minutes at this walk-in event.
