Top 5 Oregon travel books this summer

Well it's summer, and it's the season of getaways, whether local or further afield. Out of curiosity, I did a search in the WCCLS catalog to see which of the travel guidebooks were most popular this summer. It turns out that WCCLS patrons are an active bunch, and that you're getting out there making the most of what Oregon has to offer this summer.

Here are the five most popular guidebooks in the WCCLS catalog for the past three months:

60 hikes within 60 miles, Portland
The best in tent camping, Oregon
Best hikes with kids: Oregon
Portland city walks
Backroads of Oregon

If reading this post has you inspired to do some local exploring, great! WCCLS libraries have lots of books to get you going. There are general searches in the catalog that will get you to all the guidebooks to adventures in Oregon, or if you want to narrow it down, here are more focused searches for you:
And last but not least - for all of you search nerds out there, to find out the most popular items for a particular search in the catalog, just run your search and choose to sort the results by "Most Popular." It's based on the last 120 days of circulation data (that is, checkouts), as well as how many holds have been placed on the items.

Happy searching and happy travels in Oregon this summer!
