There has been a lot of talk this week about the Heartbleed bug that affected massive numbers of websites around the world. WCCLS has taken steps to ensure that our servers are updated and protected against this bug.
This isn't an issue that affects personal computers or public computers in libraries (http://www.businessinsider.com/heartbleed-bug-explainer-2014-4). It affects the software that powers online services such as banking or social media websites.
As a general security precaution, it is a good idea to change your password on any site where you have an account. You'll want to change your password after the website has been updated to protect against the Heartbleed bug. Password manager LastPass has created a tool that allows you to check if the website in question has been updated: https://lastpass.com/heartbleed/
