REFORMA, the National Association to Promote Library and Information Services to Latinos and the Spanish Speaking is a professional
organization for library staff and library students, and an affiliate of the American Library Association.
The new Oregon Chapter of REFORMA will provide leadership statewide
to help libraries offer more Latino and Spanish-language oriented materials; to
recruit more bilingual library staff; and to encourage new library services and
programs that meet the needs of the Latino and Spanish- speaking community.
The Executive Board of Directors of National REFORMA
approved the Oregon Chapter at their annual meeting this month. WCCLS Outreach
Librarian for Latino and Youth Services Program, Martín Blasco, will serve as
the inaugural chair of this new chapter. Elizabeth Lopez, a Librarian with the
Hillsboro Public Library will serve as Secretary.
