In 1939 Miriam Kominkowska was nine years old, living happily with her loving family in the small town of Lubraniec, Poland. Everything changed on September 1 when Germany invaded Poland.
In the Shadow of Death is the story of young Miriam's resilience and fierce determination to live, as she experienced the terrible devastation of Lodz ghetto, endured the loss of her family, and survived the grim horror of Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen. Join us to hear her story.
Mrs. Miriam Greenstein will have copies of her autobiography In the Shadow of Death, A Young Girl's Survival in the Holocaust available for $20 and can be autographed at the end of the program. Proceeds go to the endowment fund for the maintenance of the Oregon Holocaust Memorial.
Parking at the Tualatin Public Library is limited because of parking lot improvements; additional parking is available at nearby public parking lots. See Construction Around the Library for more information.
