Sir Terry Pratchett (1948 - 2015)

The internationally renowned comic fantasy author Terry Pratchett passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at his home in Whiltshire, England, after a lengthy battle with early-onset Alzheimer's.

Pratchett's work resulted in over 70 books translated into dozens of languages, for which he received a multitude of awards and honors. In 1998, he was knighted as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
