Art of the Story 2016 performer spotlight: Kevin Kling

Hear Kevin Kling perform at the 2016 Art of the Story festival:
Kevin’s autobiographical tales are as enchanting as they are true to life – from hopping freight trains to getting hit by lightning. His stage shows like Tales from the Charred Underbelly of the Yule Log, deliver hilarious, often tender stories. He is best known for his popular commentaries on National Public Radio’s All Things Considered.

Kling’s artistry has been recognized with the awarding of numerous grants and fellowships, such as The National Endowment for the Arts. For the past several years, he has performed at the acclaimed National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, TN. He was also named “Minneapolis Story Laureate” in 2014.
Despite a congenital birth defect and motorcycle accident that affects the use of both arms, Kevin continues to write many plays and stories. He has released a number of compact disc collections of his stories and has published three books.
