Tuality Healthcare Library to close August 12

The Tuality Healthcare Library will be permanently closing on August 12. This closure was a difficult decision and a component of Tuality’s broader efforts to meet budgetary goals for the coming fiscal year. Tuality has been a valued special library in WCCLS for many years, and we will miss their unique contribution to our Cooperative.

When will the Tuality library close?
The last day the Tuality library will be open is Friday, August 12. All Tuality library materials must be returned by August 12.

What will happen to Tuality material checkouts and holds?
If you currently have any Tuality library items checked out, you will no longer be able to renew them past August 12. As of July 22, no Tuality library items will be available to check out, and they will no longer appear in the online catalogs.

What will happen to the Tuality library collection?
Tuality is finding new homes for their library collection among staff, community members, nonprofits, and WCCLS libraries.

The Tigard Library Celebrates Halsted Bernard as new Director

The Tigard Public Library is pleased to announce that Halsted Bernard has been selected as our next Director of Library Services. Halsted is a familiar face at the library. She has been our Circulation Manager for three years and served as one of the library’s interim co-directors for the past seven months.

After a competitive recruitment, she becomes the Tigard Public Library’s sixth director. In announcing Halsted’s selection as director, Tigard City Manager Marty Wine described Halsted’s compelling qualities of enthusiasm and commitment to partnerships and innovation, which qualified her for this position.
